After UEFA disqualified GNK Dinamo from the UEFA Youth league, U19 team head coach Mario Cvitanović had a press conference.
- We got the official statement today. I have to admit I was hoping UEFA will decide to let Dinamo participate in the quarter-final because we secured that stage on the pitch against Anderlecht. Our players have shown they deserve to play against Barcelona in the quarter-final and this is a tough moment for us. This match would be a way more than just a reward for us. We won't be able to fight for the Final Four stage even though we deserved that. I feel like I am sentenced to jail despite the fact I am not guilty.
- I am happy because I had the opportunity to lead this great team and I am really proud of my players. I would like to thank the club for their support. Also, I would like to thank the media for our cooperation during the whole time.
The result on the pitch is only that counts and we've shown we are better than Anderleccht. A mistake made by people can always happen, but that is the life. We should think positive and look forward to new challenges. I am happy because this team has a huge potential and 99 percent of them will have an opportunity to play the UEFA competition next year.
- This was a great experience for me and for the whole team. We need to learn a lot from this and hopefully this kind of mistake won't happen ever again. There are always some bad times, but we can survive and we need to concentrate on the future. All players are professionals and they need to move on. I think we need to find a motivation in the chance of playing the UYL next year. I believe in our players, in this club and in the holy jersey.
Fintić wasn't aware of his yellow cards and his job is to play football. I think we shouldn't speculate about what could have happened. There was a suggestion to play a new game in Brussels and we were preparing for that possibility. Congratulations to Anderlecht for some things they've done in this situation. I've talked to our official who made this mistake and he is feeling really sorry about the whole situation. I can't deprecate him because of what happened. This mistake can happen to anybody, but once it happens, you can't fix it.
