Hodžić scores hat-trick and a dream goal

Dinamo played a great game and got the convincing 5:1 win against Inter to get first league victory of the season. Hero of the day was Armin Hodžić who scored the hat-trick while Junior Fernandes added two goals but it was a brilliant first goal by Hodžić that was highlight of the day and, we can already say, the whole season.

Coach Mamić decided to face Inter a very young squad with Benković (18), Hodžić (20), Pjaca (20), Ćorić (18) and Rog (20) in the starting eleven. Also, it was the first official game for Mario Musa and the "comeback" game for long time injured Antolić and Husejinović.

Playing 4-1-4-1 with only Gonçalo as defensive midfielder Modri were the dominant team from the start of the game. Modri had their first chance when Rog and Ćorić tried to score in the 4th minute but the ball ended in the corner. Four minutes later something magical happened on Maksimir.

It is hard to describe the brilliant overhead kick by Armin Hodžić that gave Dinamo the lead. Rog made the pass towards Hodžić who decided for an overhead kick from 13-14 metres on the left side and placed the ball in the far corner. Moment of magic earned Hodžić standing ovation and put Dinamo in front. It was a "once in a lifetime goal" that everyone must see.

Dinamo continued to push forward, Modri created several chances and finally in the 37th minute extended their lead. Hodžić was brought down in the box so the referee pointed to spot from where Fernandes made it 2:0. To make things even worse for Inter their defender Komorski was sent off, too.

Despite new chances at the start of the second half in the 51st minute Inter got a goal back when Nestorovski reacted on the rebound and placed the ball in the net. Inter players weren't happy for a long time because Modri scored three goals in just five minutes and finished the game. In the 56th minute Fernandes scored a nice header after a cross from Rog and then it was time for Hodžić to end the game.

Two minutes after Fernandes Hodžić scored from the edge of the box to complete his hat-trick in the 61st minute with a nice header after Musa's nice cross. Modri dominated till the end but there was no more goals but the result stayed 5:1. Next game in Champions league qualifier against Molde scheduled for Tuesday.
