Dinamo holds records in FIFA World Cup finals
GNK Dinamo Zagreb is the record holder in the history of FIFA World Cup finals. None of the world clubs had more home-grown players among FIFA World Cup finalists than Dinamo Zagreb's Youth Academy. Furthermore, none of the world clubs had more players that played for them in one part of their career among FIFA World Cup finalists than Dinamo Zagreb!
14 players in current Croatia National team played for Dinamo Zagreb in one part of their football career (Luka Modrić, Mario Mandžukić, Dejan Lovren, Šime Vrsaljko, Marcelo Brozović, Domagoj Vida, Mateo Kovačić, Vedran Ćorluka, Milan Badelj, Andrej Kramarić, Josip Pivarić, Marko Pjaca, Tin Jedvaj & Dominik Livaković). According to these statistics, Dinamo holds a record in the FIFA World Cup finalist squads, only Slavia Praha had the same number of players back in 1934 FIFA World Cup.
According to UEFA definition of "home-grown player" (playing in a club for three years between age 15-21), Dinamo also holds a record in the final of FIFA World Cup. With 10 players produced in our Youth Academy, Dinamo is ranked first, above Barcelona (WC 2010) and Ajax (WC 2010).
