Dinamo played an excellent game against Dynamo Kiev, dominated the game and created series of chances before Domagoj Vida scored a header in the 72nd minute to secure the victory.

Modri opened the Austrian part of preparations with some style.Despite the fact that the team is in full training and that the players trained morning before the game - Dinamo played a great game against the Ukrainian side. Kiev was in a subordinate position for almost the entire game and Dinamo was the team that dictated the pace, created opportunities and, eventually, got the fully deserved victory.

Coach Ante Čačić tested all his players, with an exception of Ante Puljić who played the whole 90 minutes, so two played against Kiev; each one got 45 minutes. From the beginning of the game Dinamo was the dominant side and it was Mateo Kovačić who orchestrated Dinamo's game in the first half. Youngster was the main driving force and was elusive for the players of the Ukrainian team.

As usual, Pivarić and Ibanez on the left side created several dangerous situations in the Kiev's box. In the 21st minute it was Ibanez who made a cross to Čop but he was a little short. The same thing happened six minutes later when Dinamo played a great action, Pivarić put in a cross but Čop once again came a second to late. Dinamo tried through Ibanez's long shot and Puljić's header after the corner but Koval had a good game.

In the second half Dinamo played with another squad but everything else stayed the same. Modri dominated, lifted the pressure and it was a matter of time when will Dinamo take the lead. After Mikhalik hit the post of his own goal while clearing it in front of Beqiraj, in the 72nd minute Dinamo finally took the lead. Alispahić put in a corner kick cross and Vida headed to ball to the bottom right corner; fully deserved lead for the Croatian champions.

After taking the lead, Dinamo didn't stop and Modri searched for the second goal so we've seen number of chances till the end. It was Beqiraj who earned himself several opportunities but Kychak made couple of saves and stopped our striker from scoring. On the other side, Lončarić made a great save ten minutes from time when Kravets had one of Dynamo's rare chances to score.

At the end of the game, Dinamo players and coaching stuff had plenty of reasons to be satisfied because Modri showed that there are many reason for entering the season with great expectations.

Copied!
