Captains choice: Sammir wins player of the year award!

Croatian first division team captains have chosen Dinamo midfielder Sammir as the best player of the year!

For the tenth consecutive year captain of each MAXtv Prva liga team voted for the top five players of the league. When all the points from all 12 captains have been counted it was clear that the best player of the league, once again, is a Dinamo player - Sammir.

From possible 120 points Sammir won 62 while second placed Dinamo player on loan at Lokomotiva Andrej Kramarić stopped at 40. Third placed was Franko Andrijašević while Dinamo youngster Mateo Kovačić won forth place.

- I would like to thank all the players for voting and giving me this great honour. It's always nice to get recognition for your work and this award is really something special because it came from the players. In the last few months everything is going great: Dinamo is in the Champions league, on the top of the table and I played my first game for Croatian national team so I must say I'm thrilled - said Sammir at the award ceremony.

Sammir won the same award two years ago and this is the seventh time that a Dinamo player is the winner.
