Dinamo played first preseason match in 2012. and it ended with a draw. Even though Modri showed a playful display goalkeeper Džida had a fantastic game and managed to earn his team a draw. Dinamo took the lead when Krstanović scored but a great shot from Sesar made it final 1:1.
In our sixth year in Međugorje, after 13 years, Dinamo came back to Čitluk. Since it was the first preseason game and the players only began with trainings - it was a good game. Of course, the final 1:1 result doesn't show the way the game looked because Dinamo was a much better side. On the other hand, it wouldn't be fair not to mention great will and determination of Brotnjo players so this draw comes as a great prize.
Coach Ante Čačić said that two teams would play each half and what both teams had in common was - good football. One of the best players in the first 45 minutes was captain Milan Badelj. Our midfielder was all over the pitch, defensively and offensively, creating Dinamo attacks and winning tackles.
The 61st minute of the game in Čitluk was very special because that's when Igor Bišćan returned to the pitch. After a long term injury and recovery our captain was back on the pitch and it was a delight to see him. Welcome back!
It took Modri ten minutes to create first chance when Krstanović found young Špehar but his shoot was blocked. Couple of minutes later the same duo created another threat only to get the same outcome - corner kick. Dinamo dominated the game and it was Krstanović who had the next great chance. Alispahić made a nice run on the right side, made a cross and our tall striker's shot was saved by Džida.
Dinamo pressed more and more, Vrsaljko and Alispahić were a constant threat on the right side, and after Šimunić's header went near the post - Dinamo finally took the deserved lead in the 39th minute.
Vrsaljko made another cross, Kramarić placed a shoot, Džida saves but the deflection goes to Krstanović who makes it 1:0 for the Croatian champions.
Second half team was almost completely different, only Kelava and Vida stayed on the pitch for another 15 minutes, but Dinamo played the same: in formation 4-2-3-1 and very good. Better than the rest was youngster Kovačić who was simply unstoppable for the home team players. He created several chances for his teammates and himself shot a couple of times but Džida was great.
Tonel had a great chance when his attempt was cleared of the line and Džida saved shots from Sylvestr and Beqiraj. Dinamo dominated and created chances but it was Brotnjo who scored. In the 57th minute Brotnjo launched a counter attack, the ball came to Sesar who placed a great shot in the high corner of the net.
The goal didn't change much, Dinamo was a much better team and Džida had a busy last half an hour. Beqiraj scored in the 65 th minute but the assistant's flag was up, Leko, Kovačić, Pivarić and captain Bišćan had their chances but Džida saved it all to secure a draw.
Slight problems in scoring goals are expected in this part of preseason so there is no reason to be unhappy. Dinamo played a very good game in Čitluk, created many chances and dominated the game. All the coach asked for before the game.
