Šimunić captain in defeat, Beqiraj earns a valuable point

Dinamo international players didn't have a successful evening in their national squads. Josip Šimunić and Domagoj Vida suffered a 2:0 defeat in Greece and youngsters Mateo Kovačić and Mario Šitum lost at home from Spain. The only player that had a reason to be happy was Fatos Beqiraj because his Montenegro team draw with England and secured a play-off spot.

Croatia suffered a 2:0 defeat in Greece and that way jeopardized  appearance of the European championship in Ukraine and Poland in 2012. Šimunić was the captain of the Croatian team while Vida entered the game in the last 15 minutes. Kelava, Vrsaljko and Badelj were watching the game from the stands.

Croatian U-21 squad also suffered a defeat. Youngsters from Spain were a better side and earned theirs 2:0 win. Kovačić and Šitum played the whole game.

Only Dinamo international that has reason to be satisfied was Fatos Beqiraj. Montenegro managed to, once again, draw with England and that way earned their place in the playoff.
