Dinamo and Hajduk played a goalless derby in Split. Modri were a much better team in the first half while Hajduk dominated in the second but it was Dinamo who missed a penalty and a chance to win in the 92nd minute.

Just a few days after magnificent 2:1 win against Arsenal in the Champions league Modri came to Poljud and, as they've said before the game, wanted to win. From the start of the game Modri looked full of confidence, created several nice chances and it was Kalinić who saved Hajduk. No more than 100 seconds passed when Soudani placed a brilliant volley but Kalinić and the post kept a clean sheet.

Dinamo dominated but Hajduk had a clear chance after a mistake by young Benković but our centre back made a fantastic tackle to keep Ohandza's shot away from the net. Pjaca also had his attempt saved by Kalinić and Henriquez placed a 20-metre shot near the post. As the time went on tough rhythm has caught up with our players and Hajduk managed to balance the things on the pitch.

In the second half Hajduk was a better team. Home side had several long shots saved by Eduardo with Dinamo defending most of the time. Coach Mamić tried to refresh things with Machado, Ćorić and Goncalo entering the pitch but Modri were tired and it was obvious. Still, the champions had the best possible chance in additional time when Soudani escaped Hajduk's defence, was brought down and referee pointed to the spot.

Henriquez placed the ball and took the shot for the win but the ball went on the wrong side of the post.

The game ended with a draw, Modri continued their fantastic streak without a loss to 43 games and they play the next one against lower league NK Oštrc Zlatar on Tuesday in Cup 1/16 final.

Copied!
