Dinamo played a very good derby game in Koprivnica, got the fully deserved victory and extended to lead to seven points. Early own goal from Marijo Gregurina got Dinamo the lead and after 30 minutes of play Luis Ibanez scored the second one but Slaven got one back just before halftime. Dinamo didn't stop in the second half and soon Ante Rukavina gave Dinamo back the two goal lead and 16-year old Alen Halilović scored his first goal in additional time.
Dinamo came to Koprivnica to secure the victory and extend to lead and Modri did exactly that with some style. Even though having a tough game and a trip to Kyiv couple of days before the game against Slaven, Dinamo dominated the game and had a great opening when they took the lead after just a couple of minutes of play.
Coach Ante Čačić decided to rest Tonel, Domagoj Vida and Duje Čop while Sammir watched the whole game from the bench but Modri proved exactly what the coach said numerous times: every player in Dinamo deserves to be here. It took Modri only four minutes of play to take the lead when Ibanez made a nice cross, Puljić headed the ball and it eventually hit Gregurina and ended in the net.
Despite heavy rain and wind that bothered players and spectators, especially in the first half, Dinamo didn't slow down after the lead and they had several nice chances. Main man in almost every chances was Mateo Kovačić who fully recovered from the injury and is playing excellent. His passes for Vrsaljko on the right side and Pivarić on the left one created chances for attacking players so Krstanović scored in the 28th minute but his goal disallowed for a foul on goalkeeper Rodić. Eventually, he was substituted because of an injury but not before he conceded the second goal.
Modri won the ball on 40 metres from Rodić, Rukavina instantly made a nice pass for Ibanez who escaped defenders and easily chipped the ball beside rushed-out Rodić for 2:0. Dinamo was a much better team that completely dominated the game but the home team had one nice action in the first 45 minutes and - it ended with a goal.
Čanađija made a nice run on the left side, found Glavica in the middle who gave a nice backheel pass to Delić who placed the ball below the post; nice action and superb finishing for 2:1 just before halftime. Naturally, getting one back gave Slaven's players wings and they started the second half offensively but very soon they got punished.
This time the duo Ibanez-Rukavina changed roles, Ibanez made an assist and Rukavina easily got rid of his marker and placed the ball in the bottom corner of the net. Third Dinamo goal basically ended the game and it was only a question what will the final result look like; especially when Kelava made couple of nice saves and didn't allow Slaven to get back in the game.
Five minutes before the end of the game, with standing ovations, young Alen Halilović entered the game and minutes later - the history, too. Another sub, Beqiraj, did a lot of the work in a counter attack, gave a nice assist to the younger who showed great skill and easily chipped the ball over goalkeeper Pelin. With only 16 years, 3 months and 19 days Halilović became the youngest scorer in the history of the Croatian league.
This was a great way to conclude a great night in Koprivnica where Dinamo proved that they are, by far, the best team in the country.
