GNK Dinamo dominated throughout the match against NK Istra 1961, but was unable to win and collect important points. From the start 'Modri' took ball possession and created many chances. However, great defensive display from the guests and their goalkeeper Ivušić managed to stop Dinamo.
Dinamo took the lead in the last minute of the first half when Lucio fouled Mario Šitum in the penalty box. Chilean winger Junior Fernandes easily converted the penalty for 1-0 lead. But, just a minute later Istra 1961 equalized. Stepčić tried his luck from 25 meters, but Schildenfeld handballed and stopped the shot in his own penalty box. Istra 1961 captain Goran Roce also managed to score from the penalty spot for the final 1-1 score.
In the second half Dinamo tried to score a winning goal, Ivan Fiolić came close in the 89th minute when he rattled the crossbar. At the end, however, 21 attempts on Ivušić goal weren't enough for a victory.
Next fixture is scheduled for Tuesday, November 22, when Olympique Lyon arrives to Zagreb.
