Dinamo won the game at Poljud! Modri were a much better team, despite the fact that they were a man down last half an hour and fully deserved their win. Dinamo came in front when Ivan Krstanović scored early in the game and Hajduk's Goran Jozinović got the equaliser few minutes before halftime. Seconds after that goal Luis Ibanez scored a brilliant one and gave Modri the lead and, as it later proved, the victory.

Dinamo came to Poljud with a lot of self confidence and one goal - to win the game. They played like  champions for the first half an hour of the game and could have solved everything then. The game started brilliantly when Tin Jedvaj, 17-year old centre back who played an excellent game, won the ball and gave a nice pass to Krstanović who got round Blažević and gave Modri the lead.

After an early lead Dinamo continued to dominate so Brozović had a nice chance in the 21st minute and Sammir an excellent one minutes later. Our playmaker won the ball from careless Nižić, made a run towards Blažević but the ball bounced just when he was about to place a shot and it went beside the goal; very unlucky for Dinamo and the first chance to actually solve the game early on was wasted.

Modri completely dominated the game for 30 minutes but then they backed down, started focusing more on defense and Hajduk got several crosses to the box; eventually, one ended with an equaliser. Dinamo's defense kicked the corner kick out of the box but only for Jozinović who placed a shot which got deflected several times before ending in the back of the net.

Luck was on Hajduk's side in that moment but just several seconds later - Dinamo got back in front. Čop gave the ball to Ibanez who surely wanted to put the cross from the left side but the ball ended in the upper far corner of the net and Dinamo was once again in front; best possible ending of an very interesting half. As for the second half, Dinamo opened very good and Ademi had a nice chance but he missed while Blažević made an excellent save after Čop's header in the 59th minute.

Five minutes later, in the 65th minute, Dinamo was left with a man down when referee showed Brozović his second yellow card. Naturally, from that moment Dinamo focused more on defense and counter attacks but again the defending champions had better chances than Hajduk; several of them. Hajduk had more possession and put in number of crosses to the box but Jedvaj and Šimunić were excellent.

In fact, Čop had a one-on-one situation with Blažević in the 83rd minute, got the ball over the goalkeeper but beside the goal too. Sammir had his chance saved by Blažević and substitute Beqiraj also wasted his good chance but - never mind.

After 2007. Dinamo won the game at Poljud, extended their lead to 11 points and made a big step towards the eight consecutive league title. Well done to the players and the coaching staff!

Copied!
