Inter stopped Dinamo's national championship winning streak! Even though Dinamo had several great chances in the opening of the game, penalty kick in the second half and one player extra - Inter managed to keep a clean sheet and earn a valuable point against the champions.
Dinamo coach Krunoslav Jurčić decided to send very offensive team to the pitch in Zaprešić. With only Leko as defensive midfielder, attack oriented Tomečak and Ibanez on full backs and Alispahić, Badelj and Kovačić in charge of creating chances for Rukavina and Beqiraj in attack. Modri opened the game with two great chances that could steer the game to Modri side but Santini saved his net.
Before second minute even started, Rukavina won the header and passed the ball to Beqiraj who made a nice run but waited just a second to long with a shot and defence managed to block his shot. Couple of minutes later, Kovačić pass found Beqiraj again who's fierce shot just below the bar was saved by Santini.
As the game went further, Inter started to play better and so came the first chance when Abilaliaj threatened from the free kick. Couple of minutes after that, after half an hour of play Mišić made a nice run on the left side and found Šarić who made a nice move before shooting but Kelava's fantastic saved Dinamo.
Ten minutes after start of the second half, Dinamo had the best possible chance. Alispahić made a cross from the free kick, Badelj's header was saved by the post and Santini but there was a big crowd in the box and someone used his hand so Dinamo got the chance from the penalty spot. To make things even better, Plazanić was to harsh on the referee and received a second yellow card.
Unfortunately, Alispahić decided to shoot to the same side Santini was on so penalty kick chance was ruined. Dinamo pressed more with an extra player but despite couple of (semi)chances, Inter managed to keep a clean sheet.
