Dinamo played a brilliant city derby match against Zagreb and secured a big 6:0 victory. Modri showed great display and now they turn to Maribor game with a lot of optimism.
Coach Ante Čačić said before the game that he is afraid of the game against Zagreb because it's the one in middle of the Champions league play-off games with Maribor but players proved that he had no reason to feel that way. Dinamo started the game very offensively with only Adrian Calello as defensive midfielder and no less than five offensive players.
From the beginning of the game, there was only one team on the pitch. Dinamo started to create chances and for the first 30 minutes Ibanez, Čop and Beqiraj all had their attempts saved by Vidaković but Zagreb couldn't defend all game. Čop had and excellent one-on-one situation in the 24th minute after pass made by Sammir, he passes round Vidaković and placed the ball beside the goal.
It was only a matter of time when will Dinamo score and it happened in the 32nd minute. Alispahić got the ball 25 metres from Vidaković and placed a very nice shot to the corner of the net. Three minutes later Domagoj Vida made it 2:0. Sammir made a cross from the corner kick, our defender ran to the near post and headed the ball to the net. Before going to half time, Sammir scored the third one from the penalty kick after Beqiraj was tackled in the box.
Dinamo played the second half in the same way and got three more goals. It was Alispahić who made another nice pass in the 54th minute, this time it was a return ball for Sammir who nicely scored from 20 metres; excellent move by Sammir. Ten minutes later, Dinamo extended the lead to 5:0. Modri played another great action, Sammir got rid of two players, Alispahić found Ibanez who was brought down by Vidaković on 20 metres but the referee let the play because Beqiraj got the ball and scored.
Despite the big lead, Dinamo still pushed forward and created chances but the final, sixth, goal came from a brilliant solo move. Substitute Jerko Leko got the ball on 25 metres and immediately launched in to the upper corner of the net! Excellent move to conclude a beautiful evening at Maksimir.
Dinamo now turn their focus to Tuesday and the play-off 2nd leg match against Maribor.
