Attractive goals, playful play, effective actions and plays, four scored goals and a convincing victory delighted the audience at Maksimir Stadium and elicited applause from the stands. In the match of the 8th round of the SuperSport HNL, the Blues defeated Slaven Belupo 4:1 in a duel in which they also missed a penalty kick.
Once again, at the starting point of Dinamo's actions was the playful, energetic, and inspired Arbër Hoxha. In the 41st minute, Kevin Theophile sent a long ball over the half of the field to the left for Hoxha, who skillfully controlled it with his chest and then engaged the "jet engine" again. He rushed towards the penalty area, played a one-two with Dejan Ljubičić, passed by the first defender, and then, with a body feint, threw off balance two more defenders and powerfully launched the ball with his right foot from 12 meters under the crossbar.
In injury time of the first half, Hoxha once again troubled the opposing defense, intercepted the ball in Slaven's half, catapulted himself through the Koprivnica defensive line, passed a defender and with a skillful, precise pass to the right between two visiting players set up Sandro Kulenović who slammed it into the near corner.
Coach Mario Kovacevic substituted Hoxha due to injury at half-time, and brought in Mateo Lisica, who was already involved in the action for the third goal of the blues in the 56th minute. Captain Josip Misic sent a long ball to the right into empty space where Lisica rushed from the wing, played it back ten meters, and there, at the same time, Mounsef Bakrar made a right-footed swing and Moris Valincic made a powerful sliding tackle for the ball. However, it was Bakrar who launched the ball into the net.
The high pressing of the blues forced the opposing defense into a new mistake, Josip Mitrović returned the ball to goalkeeper Osman Hadžikić in the 60th minute, but suddenly Kulenović appeared there, grabbed the ball before Slaven's goalkeeper who caught him on the leg. It was Kulenović who set the ball on the penalty spot, but Hadžikić still managed to stop the ball.
Four minutes later, the guests finally found a corridor to the net. Adrian Jagušić took a free kick from 18 meters on the left side and effectively crossed the "living wall" reducing the lead. Just after that, Jagušić then crossed from the left, Andrija Filipović attempted a header, and Ivan Nevistić managed to clear the ball below the crossbar.
The story was concluded in the 71st minute with an impressive move by Lisica. He received the ball at an angle on the right side, about twenty meters from the goal, and powerfully torpedoed it with his right foot into the opposite top corner.
