In the 2. round of the Champions league group stage Dinamo suffered a loss in Munich against Bayern. Bavarian side came up to the favourite role, dominated most of the game and with four goals in the first 28 minutes secured three points. Amazing Robert Lewandowski continued with his new hat-trick which Douglas and Gotze adding one each for the final 5:0 win.
Wonders don't come in two for Dinamo in the Champions league; at least not so far. After an amazing win against Arsenal on the opening of the group stage Bayern, as expected, was too strong. Bavarian giants are one the favourites to win this competition and Dinamo was no match for them so an amazing unbeaten run came to an end after 45 games and 307 days. Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world so if the run had to end somewhere - Allianz Arena is the place.
Dinamo started the game in 4-3-3 formation with an idea to hold possession as much as possible and be dangerous through counter-attacks but Bayern had something else in mind. Guardiola side dominated from the start of the game and after 13 minutes of play converted their chances into goals. Four of them in 15 minutes.
Douglas Costa opened the scoring after a nice run and a shoot to the near corner and Lewandowski made it 2:0 in the 22nd minute after an assist by Thiago. Bayern didn't stop, Gotze made it 3:0 in the 25h minute and Lewandowski scored three minutes later after corner kick. Naturaly, it was game over and there was no more chance of an miracle after that but Dinamo didn't colapse. Modri made couple of changes and in the second half looked much better but there was no saving in the 55th minute when Lewandowski scored an amazing goal after a brilliant team move.
Dinamo had several long shot attempts, Soudani and Fernandes managed to escape Bayern's defence on couple of occasions but Neuer was concentrated. On the other hand Bayern tried from free kicks but there was no more goals.
The best thing, along with amazing Bayern, were Dinamo fans. More than 4000 of them made an fantastic atmosphere, sang the entire game and it was great to be on Allianz Arena that evening. The players gave their best to thank them on the pitch but Bayern is simply to good; easy as that.
Modri have three points after two games played in the Champions league and play their next game on Saturday against Inter in Zaprešić.
