Dinamo players once again proved character and showed great football to come back from a 2:0 Split lead to secure a magnificent 4:2 victory.
Modri started the match very offensively with only Ademi as defensive midfielder and no less than five players attacking players: Leko as right winger, Ibanez as the left one with Badelj and Rukavina in the middle behind Čop as striker. On the other side, Split played very tight in defense and waited for their chances.
In fact, it was an ordinary domestic league game in which Dinamo dominated and created chances but the only difference than usual was that Split used all their chances. Dinamo had several attempts from long distance when Ibanez tried his shot but ball went beside the post; just like Čop's attempt couple of minutes later. Even though Modri had more of the play - Split took the lead.
Baraban took the ball 30 metres from Kelava, passed his defender and gave an excellent ball for Belle who chipped the ball over Kelava for the lead. Dinamo immediately responded through headers from Vrsaljko and Leko and in the 38th minute Rukavina had a chance that was easier to score. Čop had a cross headed back in the middle for Rukavina who was alone five metres from Zagorac but Split's goalkeeper made an excellent save to stop his shot. Minute after - it was 2:0.
Hrgović made a cross from the left, ball took a deflection and the ball came to Bagarić who nicely placed it in the net; shocking 2:0 for Split despite Dinamo being the Dinamo that dominated. During the break, coach Čačić made couple of changes so Sammir and Peko entered the pitch. Very soon Dinamo managed to turn chances into goals.
Modri played excellent 20 minutes, maybe the best of the season, and scored four goals of which referee allowed three of them. Pivarić and Rukavina were on the left side, Rukavina made a nice pass to Badelj who placed a left footed shot the net. It was in the 56th minute and couple of minutes later Dinamo got the equaliser. It was once again Badelj, this time as the passer, and Šimunić headed the ball behind Zagorec.
Split couldn't measure with Dinamo, Modri completely dominated and it was only a matter of minutes when will they take the lead. The fans first thought Dinamo is in front in the 62nd minute when Pivarić made a nice run and gave the ball back to Čop to placed in the net but the assistant referee raised his flag; it later proved he was wrong. Dinamo didn't stop and in the 66th minute Hrgović fouled Badelj, referee pointed to the spot so Sammir made it 3:2.
After taking the lead Dinamo slowed the pace of the game but still created some chances. One of them, in the 84th minute ended with the fourth goal. Peko found Vrsaljko in the box, his shot was saved by Zagorac and Čop had an easy job to place the ball in the net.
Dinamo managed to got back from two goals down, played an excellent game and secured three points against a strong side like Split. For the first time this season, Dinamo doesn't have a midweek game so the players have time to rest for next Saturday and the game in Zadar.
