Together, with pride, nostalgia, and sadness, today we remember all the heroes of the Homeland War and especially pay tribute to the never forgotten victims of Vukovar and Škabrnja. Their courage, strength, and sacrifice remain eternal symbols of the fight for freedom and dignity of our people.
GNK Dinamo, this Tuesday, November 18, marks 34 years since the tragedies that have become symbols of the difficult moments of the creation of independent Republic of Croatia, with special reverence observing the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Homeland War as well as the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Vukovar and Škabrnja.
The Maksimir club and the hero city are strongly connected with powerful emotions visible even on a symbolic level: the Blues brought back the name Dinamo on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2000, and played their first match under the "sacred name" five days later, precisely in Vukovar. More precisely - at the renovated stadium in Borovo.
