After fourth round of the Champions league group stage and the game against PSG in Paris Dinamo still has no points. Croatian champions played a very good first half, dominated and had some chances to gain a good result but PSG improved in the second 45 minutes and got the big win.
For the first time this season, Dinamo started the match with three centar defenders in the back line so Puljić, Vida and Šimunić all started the game. With those three behind and no less than five midfielders Dinamo opened the game with some style, had more ball possession and missed a great chance to get in front.
PSG was surprised with Dinamo's style of play because they expected their opponents to defend at all cost. In that kind of play, after 11 minutes Dinamo had the best chance of the match. Sammir made a nice run through the midfield and found Pivarić on the left, he entered the box and made a shot towards the far corner but the ball went little beside the post.
As it usually happens in Champions league games - punishment was almost instant. Ibrahimović made a cross from the right side, Alex reacted nicely and placed the ball in the net; after 16 minutes in which Dinamo had more of the game it was PSG who were in front. Naturally, Dinamo players felt a bit down after PSG took the lead because they felt like they've earned more but they still created several chances that could've ended much better than the actually did. Loud booing from the crowd at the end of the first half said it all; home fans were unhappy and Dinamo played the best 45 minutes in the Champions league this season.
Second half - completely different story. Dinamo managed to keep their style of play for the first 10-15 minutes but when PSG got the second goal there was only one team on the pitch. Just like the home fans, coach Carlo Ancelotti obviously wasn't happy either so his team played a much better second half. Before PSG took control, Dinamo had one more great chance to get back in the game when Vrsaljko made a cross and Rukavina placed a good header but it went over the post. Again, few minutes after, PSG scored the second goal.
In the 61st minute it was again Ibrahimović who made most of the work, found Matuidi who made it 2:0. Four minutes later, it was game over. Dinamo had a corner kick and PSG scored after a textbook counter attack. Lavezzi made a run on the right flank, found Ibrahimović who got his third assist of the night when he gave the ball to Menez who showed some excellent skills and made it 3:0.
Until the end of the match home team easily controlled the play and Kelava made some nice saves to keep the ball out of the net. Still, even he couldn't stop the forth goal that came after another Ibro assist and Hoarau scored for 4:0.
Despite playing a very good first 45 minutes, Dinamo was once again defeated in the Champions league. Modri don't have a lot of time to rest because they expect a tough match in Split on Saturday.
