In the 4. round of the Champions league group D Ajax was a better side than Dinamo and earned 4:0 victory. Thanks to four lovely goals the Dutch champions have taken the second place in the group while Dinamo is surely eliminated from the Champions league.

Dinamo started the game in Amsterdam in expected formation with five midfielders, offensive full back and Rukavina in attack but Ajax once again displayed excellent football and fully deserved the victory; even though the final result is little to hard on Dinamo. In the first 20 minutes Eriksen tried his shot on one side while Vrsaljko had couple of attempts and it didn't seem like Ajax would secure a big victory.

Unfortunately, in only five minutes Ajax scored twice. First goal came in the 20th minute after an excellent move from the home side. Eriksen's backheel pass put Van der Wiel in opportunity and home team full back put the ball over Kelava to the back of the net. Conceded goal disrupted Dinamo players and Ajax took advantage of that with another one. Enoh won a tackle in the midfield, De Jong's nice pass found running Sulejmani who passed Kelava and placed the into the net.

This was a clear display of everything Krunoslav Jurčić was talking about before the game: in the Champions league teams convert chances into goal. Actually, Ajax had two shots on target and 2:0 lead after just 25 minutes. Ajax tried to solve the game in the remaining 20 minutes of the first half but Dinamo once again had it's "ten minutes" and several (semi)chances but Sammir and Ibanez didn't manage to put Vermeer to a real test.

At the beginning of the second half, coach Jurčić tried with Tomečak as a right winger and also with Beqiraj as a striker. In fact, Tomečak managed to put together several runs on the right side but there was no goal and then - Ajax once again scored. It was another great team play from Ajax, once again a backheel Eriksen assist and De Jong placed the ball from the post and into the net; the goal came in the 65th minute of the game.

Even though it was obvious that Ajax will win points from this match, Dinamo players tried at least to score but when Šitum's attempt in the 82nd minute when over the goal - there was less and less hope. Actually, it was Ajax who scored yet again. In additional time substitute Lodeiro made it final 4:0.

Ajax was a better side, played excellent football and fully deserved the victory. Dinamo now turn their focus on the national championship and look forward to the next Champions league match at the great Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid.

Copied!
