Great display for another preseason victory

Dinamo played another very good preseason game and secured a 2:0 victory in Pleternica. Croatian champions dominated the entire game, created numerous chances and with goals from Sammir and Rukavina continued preseason winning streak.

For the second consecutive year Dinamo came to Pleternica; small town in Slavonija where last year Dinamo was welcomed with nothing but love. Modri made a promise that they will visit Pleternica again and as soon as the opportunity opened - Dinamo once again came to Slavonija.

In the match against local third division team, Slavija, the result was not a priority but Dinamo display showed that Modri are working well. As expected, Dinamo dominated the game for the whole 90 minutes and created many chances. On the other side home team players had problems with keeping possesion because of high pressure from Dinamo players.

It took Modri only four minutes to create the first chance when Sammir found Beqiraj but his shot was blocked. Shortly after that, in the 9. minute, Dinamo took the lead after a great team action. Kovačić made a great tackle and won the ball, found Tomečak on the right side who nicely passed his defender and made a cross to the middle where Sammir jumped and headed to ball below the post; great action and a very nice goal for the lead.

Dinamo didn't stop after taking the lead and chances came from all positions. On the left side Pivarić and Ibanez had a great game while Tomečak and Leko on the right flank also created number of dangerous positions. The ball was almost all the time in the area around Slavija's goal and in the box but goalkeeper Leist had a great game. Even when Leist was unable to make a save - ball went near the posts or on it like Tomečak's attempt in the 44th minute.

Coach Čačić made all six changes during half time so Dinamo started the second half in this formation: Lončarić - Leko, Puljić, Tonel, Ibanez - Ademi, Pokrivač - Tomečak, Alispahić, Rukavina - Čop. Shortly after start of the second half it was Alispahić who had several long shot attempts but Leist was everywhere.

It was imminent that Dinamo will score, sooner or later, and it finally happened in the 71st minute. Tomečak made a run on the right side, crossed to the middle for Rukavina who was alone and calmly placed the ball in the bottom left corner. In the final ten minutes Dinamo had several more chances, Rukavina hit the post and Tonel the bar but the final result was 2:0.
