Dinamo played a good game in Vrsar and easily qualified for the next Cup round with a 3:0 victory. Modri were a much better team than the lower league Vrsar, created many chances and at the end scored three goals; all by Ivan Krstanović.
Dinamo came to a little town in Istra to play a good game and qualify for the next round without a problem - mission accomplished. Coach Ante Čačić decided to rest several players and left them in Zagreb but the team that played in Vrsar certainly had a lot of quality and they proved it.
As expected, Dinamo controlled the game from the start till the end, created many chances and the final score line could have been a lot bigger. Just like coach wished for, Dinamo got an early lead after only 12 minutes. Winger Carrasco made a nice run on the right side and found Krstanović in the middle who had an easy job of scoring.
Four minutes later Krstanović did everything by himself at doubled the lead. Our striker was brought down in the box and then scored from the penalty spot to make it 2:0. It was hard to count all the chances Modri created but we can pick out the long distance shots from Pivarić and Alispahić just like couple of great crosses from Vrsaljko on the right side.
Just before 30 minutes of play, Dinamo scored the third one. Again it was duo Carrasco-Krstanović that took the credit for the goal: Chilean player placed a shot that was saved by Cotić but deflection game to Krstanović who rounded-up his hat-trick after less that 30 minutes of the game. Modri had several nice chances before half time but the result stayed the same.
Coach Čačić made couple of changes during halftime so Tonel and Carrasco came out while Ademi and Peko entered the game. Dinamo continued to make chances but there was no more goals. Modri threatened almost every minute, ball was most of the time in the box but Cotić made some excellent chances.
Alispahić, Rukavina, Kovačić, Peko, Krstanović and many others had their chances but Cotić decided to lock his net in the second half. Despite the fact that it's always nice to score, Dinamo did the job in the first half an hour of the game.
All in all, Modri got the expected and well deserved victory in Vrsar and now turn their focus to Saturday and the derby game against Hajduk Split.
