I am so happy and proud to be here again

Dinamo present the new head coach Zlatko Kranjčar at the press conference on Friday, June 24.

- It is a great honor for me to present you a well-known football legend Zlatko Kranjčar who is our new head coach. The first thought of Dinamo is Kranjčar and the first thought of Kranjčar is Dinamo so there is no doubt he is the right choice for us. He guided Dinamo when the team qualified for the Champions league first time in 1999 and he won the first Double with Modri also - said club's general director Tomislav Svetina.

- I am really happy to be here again. I would like to wish Zoran good luck in Al Nassr and that is a great thing for him. I was a little bit surprised with this invitation for the head coach, but I am so happy and proud. It won't be an easy task to continue Zoran's achievements, but I will do my best. I would also like to thank the club's board for the confidence they have put in me - said coach Zlatko Kranjčar at his first official conference.

Coach announced the names of his coaching staff coworkers: - Club's sporting director and assistant coach will be Dinamo legend Marijan Vlak who guided our Youth academy till now and my second assistant coach will be Željko Sopić who was Dinamo B team head coach in the last season. We need to find a solution for the head of the Dinamo Youth academy now.

What about the current squad and a preseason in Slovenia? - The first team preseason programme won't be changed a lot. There won't be a lot of time to prepare for the Champions league 2nd qualifying round stage. We won't change the current player list because there is no need to. We have quality players and I am satisfied with the team. Dinamo will play three preseason games in Slovenia: against Steaua, Panduri and Copenhagen. I would like to continue with attractive Dinamo and great performance. Our aim is to qualify for the UEFA competition group stage and we need to be at our highest level. This is an imperative.

What about the fans in the upcoming season? - Of course the result and quality have a lot of impact on our fans and we need to play good in order to keep our fans with us. Television makes it difficult because it's easier to watch the greatest football leagues in the same time. Our infrastructure at Maksimir unfortunately is not at the top level so that is also an additional reason why Dinamo fans are rather staying at home. I believe I will have the power to wake them up and bring them back to the stadium.
