Ivan Nevistic extended contract with Dinamo

When he caught the rhythm, he transformed into one of the key players of Dinamo's double crown. In the pivotal moments of the season, he deflected opponent's strikes, saved the team, and led Dinamo towards the title of champions and the cup of the cup winners. The brilliant goalkeeper of Maksimir, Ivan Nevistić, extended his contract with Dinamo until 2028 this Tuesday.

There are many flashbacks from this inspired Dinamo spring in which Nevistić propelled the team towards crucial points. He was at the core of an impressive half-season in which he stepped in from, figuratively speaking, the background. He secured a place in the starting lineup in the first leg of the knockout round of the Conference League playoffs, in the victory against Betis in Seville with 1:0, where he made four great saves to lead the Blues to victory. However, his role in the spring renaissance in league matches, on the way to defending the title, is immeasurable.

After all, even the fans would find it hard to single out just one of the numerous sequences in which Nevistić kept Dinamo on a winning course. In flight, he would catch a live ball, make a save by tipping it over the crossbar, clear with his hand, foot, head...

The duel in Seville was, therefore, a kind of turning point that restored his confidence, and immediately after that came the unforgettable performance against Varaždin, in which, towards the end, with Dinamo leading 1-0, he first saved a penalty kick, and then in the referee's added time prevented what seemed like a certain equalizer.

Indeed, what is the key moment of the season, is it that duel against Varaždin, perhaps two tough saves away against Hajduk, two effective moves that preserved the victory against Lokomotiva or reactions against Osijek when, in the midst of Dinamo's pursuit of equalization, he twice prevented the hosts from escaping to a two-goal lead... Of course, there is also a great save in the Zagreb match against Osijek in which Dinamo mathematically secured the title of champions.

- I am extremely proud and honored to continue cooperation with the biggest Croatian club. I have been here for some time, patiently and diligently working, waiting for my opportunity and I think this season I am rewarded for the attitude I have had towards Dinamo since the moment I arrived. I am glad that the club recognized that and made me happy with a new contract. But, my job here is not done, I am convinced that I have a lot of room for improvement and that with the joint effort, work, and dedication of me and the whole team, we will experience many more successes on the football fields, Nevistić told us after signing a new contract.
