Job done in Baku; Dinamo qualify for the 3.round

In front of 5500 spectators in Tofiq Bakhramov stadium Dinamo secured a goalless draw in Baku and passed through to the UEFA Champions league third qualifying round where Modri will play against HJK Helsinki.

Thanks to last week 3:0 victory in Zagreb, goalless draw in Baku was enough for Dinamo to go to the next round of UEFA Champions league. Two goals from Krstanović and one from Badelj in the first leg were enough for Dinamo to continue their European season. Dinamo was a better side in the second leg but Stamenkovič made several great saves to keep a clean sheet.

Dinamo dominated the game and had more chances, specially in the second half, but Kelava was the first goalkeeper who had to make a save. Abdullayev's free kick in 11. minute from more than 25 metres wasn't an easy job but Dinamo's goalkeeper made his first save. As the game went on, Dinamo played better and better and soon came goal chances.

Team captain Badelj made a great run through Neftchi defense in the 21. minute but Stamenkovič saved his left footed shot. Dinamo continued to dominate and it was Vrsaljko who shot towards Stamenkovič but Serbian keeper made another great save.

In the second half, Dinamo was even better and Stamenkovič had to put more effort to save his net and - he did. Sammir had a great second 45 minutes in Baku and several shots but the closest he got was when his shot from the 57th minute ended in the post. As far from the great free kick 10 minutes later is concerned - Stamenkovič was there to save Neftchi from another defeat.

The match ended a draw and Dinamo advances to the next round. Dinamo fully earned qualification to the next round because Modri were a much better team that the Azerbaijan champions. After a domestic match against Inter Zaprešić, next European match is against HJK Helsinki on the 27th of July in Finland.
