With a convincing and appealing game, scoring four goals and creating several opportunities, Lille's footballers defeated Dinamo and showed why they are currently the fourth team in the French league. The home team celebrated with a 4-0 win in the 5th round of the Europa League match, in which the Zagreb team only shone at the beginning of the game when they scored a goal, but the referee called a foul in the attack.
It was the eighth minute when Mateo Lisica crossed from the right, and Mounsef Bakrar headed in at the "far post". However, the referee indicated a foul in the attack as Bakrar touched the home defender.
Lille accelerated after about twenty minutes of play, Hakon Arnar Haraldsson initiated a semi-counterattack from the middle of the field and played it to the left where Felix Correia was advancing. The ball passed behind Dinamo's defense, and Lille's winger appeared alone in front of goalkeeper Ivan Filipović and shook the net.
Soon after, a lightning strike came again from Lille's left wing, once again putting pressure on the youngest part of Dinamo's lineup, the right side of the Maksimir defense. Romain Perraud sent a parallel from the left, Hamza Igamane took a shot from ten meters, and Filipović skillfully deflected the ball.
Lille increased their lead in the 36th minute, Correia sprinted through the middle of the field, drawing the defense back. When he reached the edge of the penalty area, he played it to the left wing where Igamane escaped, crossed low into the middle, and Ngal'ayel Mukau launched it into the net on the run.
The hosts threatened right at the start of the second half, goalkeeper Filipović made a mistake with his pass, playing a low ball looking for Dejan Ljubičić, which was intercepted by Benjamin Andre, who then passed to Correi for Igamane who missed a great opportunity over the goal.
The French signaled their third goal in the 67th minute, skillfully breaking through Dinamo's defense with two passes, Igamane played short to Haraldsson who found himself in front of Filipović, but the goalkeeper from Maksimir managed to clear the ball.
No, it was just a "delay" of the goal for two minutes. It was Haraldsson who was leading the attack, gestured to Igamaneu where to run, his teammate listened to him, appeared behind the defense and easily redirected the ball into the goal.
In the 80th minute, even the experienced Olivier Giroud tried, he was completely alone at about ten meters, took a strong shot, but Filipović blocked it.
The quartet of goals was completed by the home team in the 86th minute after several consecutive passes by the home players. Defender Aissa Mandi played a vertical ball in the middle, Andre elegantly passed it with his heel, Osame Sahraoui extended it to the right where Ethan Mbappe was and took a powerful shot from 15 meters. Filipović deflected the ball, but Andre ran up and placed it in the bottom corner.
In the extra time, Mbappe crossed from the right, but Andre completely alone at the top of the six-yard box in a clear situation failed to control the ball well, so Dinamo's goalkeeper managed to stop it after all.
