Did you know that one out of a hundred newborn babies is born with a congenital heart defect?

Did you know that in Croatia alone, 350 children are born each year with a congenital heart defect?

And did you know that today in our country, between 10 and 20 thousand people live with this invisible disease every day?

These children and their families often carry the status of "invisible patients". Their struggle is not visible at first glance, but it is real, difficult, and everyday. In almost all cases, treatment leads to the University Hospital Centre Zagreb, Department of Pediatric Cardiology at the Department of Pediatrics, the only reference center in the country.

That is why the Big Heart Association, for a small heart, in cooperation and with the support of Dinamo Foundation "Nema predaje", has launched a humanitarian action "Gift a heartbeat of life". The goal of the action is to raise 69,822.51 euros to purchase necessary medical devices that will improve the diagnosis and care of children with congenital heart defects at the Clinic for Pediatrics of the Clinical Hospital Center Zagreb.

You can find the complete list of devices HERE.

Approximately 350 young patients will benefit from these devices annually, and over the course of their minimum ten-year lifespan, more than 3500 children will have the opportunity for a better and safer future.

However, the humanitarian campaign "Gift a Heartbeat of Life" will not only focus on raising funds for the aforementioned devices. The campaign will also have other equally important goals - raising awareness about the issues faced by heart patients, bringing the work of the Big Heart, Little Heart Association closer to the public, and addressing the growing issue of heart diseases among professional athletes.

The campaign officially started on Monday, September 29, on World Heart Day, and will last until December 25, 2025. All funds raised will be deposited into a special humanitarian account opened at Zagrebačka banka: HR5123600001503681909.

„I am proud to be here as a representative and legend of the club. I am proud of this new Dinamo, of our Foundation „Never give up“ which has done many valuable actions and I am happy to join them in this one. Throughout my career, I have experienced difficult moments, such as the tragic death of my teammate Miklós Fehér, and that is why I know how important prevention is. That is why these devices and this campaign are of special significance. I invite all Dinamo fans and people throughout Croatia to get involved and help our children. They are our future and everything that remains behind us“, said Tomo Šokota at a press conference held in the press room of Maksimir Stadium.

More information about the press conference can be found on zakladanemapredaje.hr and on Dinamo's YouTube channel.

By participating in this campaign, you are giving children with congenital heart defects a chance not only for better medical care and a safer childhood, but also a brighter, more peaceful future...

Donate and - give the gift of a heartbeat!
