Inspired, playful, and at times fierce Dinamo reached new points with a convincing performance, registering all four league victories at the start of the season, and garnished such a maximum performance with another impressive statistical detail: the blues are still without conceding a goal with a total goal difference of 10:0 in the first four rounds. Coach Mario Kovačević's team defeated Istra 1961 3-0 in the 4th round of the SuperSport HNL this Saturday.
Maksimir's Spanish midfielder Gonzalo Villar scored his first goal for Dinamo with an impressive juggling move and a powerful shot. Newcomer striker Mounsef Bakrar made his first official appearance for the Blues, coming on in the 85th minute at 2-0, and initiating the action for Dinamo's third goal in the 90th minute. Interestingly, Bakrar was once a player for Istra 1961 and made his debut in a match against Dinamo, and now, he made his debut for the Maksimir club against - Istra.
The Blues shook the net as early as the 5th minute, with the visiting right-back Filip Taraba.
In what seemed like an innocent situation, calmly returning the ball to goalkeeper Franko Kolić who didn't catch it well. It bounced off his foot, and all the while, Dion Drena Beljo was cleverly lurking in the background. Both of them went for the ball, Kolić slipped in the process, the attacker from Maksimir grabbed it, and the visiting goalkeeper brought him down. It was a foul for a potential penalty kick, but Beljo quickly got up, the ball was right next to him so he accepted the "gift" and slammed it into the net for the lead of the blue team.
Luka Stojković managed to win the ball in the 22nd minute, played a short pass to Dejan Ljubičić who played a long ball to the left for Beljo, he aimed for the opposite bottom corner, but Kolić got in the way.
Dinamo has stepped up the pace in the final stages of the first half, Gabriel Vidović after a one-two with Stojković, crossed the ball into the penalty area, the away defender cleared, and at 17 meters Josip Mišić charged and torpedoed a powerful volley. The ball flew towards the goal, but goalkeeper Kolić managed to deflect it into a corner with a miraculous dive.
Beljo tried from 20 meters in the 37th minute, Kolić saved it, Ljubičić rushed in but failed to hit it well. Practically in the next action, Beljo pulled again, this time from seven meters diagonally from the left towards the near side, but the Istrian goalkeeper punched it out for a corner. A corner kick followed, Stojković crossed it, and Sergi Dominguez headed it towards the crossbar, from which the ball bounced in front of the goal line and then further into the field.
In the final seconds of the first half, Dominguez intercepted the opponent's action and won the ball, played it to the right where Bruno Goda found Stojković, who shot from an angle from the left 15 meters away with his right foot aiming for the opposite top corner. The ball flew in a proper parabola under the crossbar, but Kolić managed to deflect it out of play again with a save.
The Blues ignited in the final stages of the second half. In the 73rd minute, Mišić sent a brilliant precise long ball from the center of the field through the entire defense into the penalty area. Mateo Lisica ran in from the right, appeared completely alone at six meters, but instead of shooting, he opted for a pass that ended up being blocked...
The new goal for the Blues was signed in the 80th minute. The guests kicked the ball high from the "dangerous zone", Goda headed it back, and then followed Villar's miniature. He received it with his chest and then, with juggling moves with his right foot, he shook off the defenders, approached 17 meters, slightly to the left, and fiercely launched it with his left foot into the closer corner for 2-0 for his premier goal in the blue jersey.
Dinamo's debutant Bakrar in the 90th minute sent a short pass from the right wing into the penalty area, Marko Soldo ran onto it, passed the defender, and played it to Sandro Kulenović who, at six meters, put his foot in and deflected it into the net.
