After last season's derby played at Maksimir, where players from Dinamo and Rijeka came out on the field wearing shirts in support of the humanitarian action "Palčići and No Surrender for the Sveti Duh Hospital", the two sports rivals once again showed solidarity when it comes to topics more important than just sports results.
This time, just before the derby of the 12th round of the SuperSport HNL, they expressed their support for the humanitarian action "Gift a heartbeat of life", intended for children with congenital heart defects.
Players from Dinamo and Rijeka came out on the field accompanied by smiling 'heartbeats', as we affectionately call the little ones living with this 'invisible' condition, thus allowing them an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives.
'Srčekovci' and Dinamo players took to the field wearing shirts from the humanitarian campaign "Give a Heartbeat of Life," while Rijeka players and match officials wore shirts from the association "Big Heart, Little Heart," one of the oldest Croatian humanitarian organizations which, with the support and collaboration of Dinamo's foundation "Never Give Up," launched this campaign with a clear goal - to help children with congenital heart defects.
The goal of the humanitarian action is to raise 69,822.51 euros to purchase vital medical equipment that will improve the diagnosis and care of children with congenital heart defects at the Pediatric Clinic of the Clinical Hospital Center Zagreb, a reference center for all children with heart diseases.
In addition to financial assistance, Dinamo's foundation and the association "Veliko srce, malom srcu" want to raise awareness about the importance of preventing heart diseases and regular preventive check-ups.
Those who wish to help can do so by donating to a specially opened humanitarian account: HR5123600001503681909 (Zagrebačka banka).
"Every donation, no matter the amount, helps - because every child deserves their heartbeat of life," they concluded briefly from the association "Big Heart, Little Heart" and Dinamo's foundation "Never give up."
