Dinamo once again proved to be the best football team in the city and got the well deserved and convincing victory against Zagreb at Kranjčevićeva. Modri dominated the entire game but couldn't convert possession into chances in the first half but everything changed in the second 45 minutes. Only three minutes after entering the game half-time sub Fatos Beqiraj scored the opener to make things a lot easier for Dinamo and than Ivan Krstanović scored two more for 3:0.
Dinamo came to Kranjčevićeva as a big favourite. Leader against the last team at the table is always suppose to be an easy match but many times the points you win at the bus on your way to the game – are the toughest to actually get. Modri had control of the game, started very good and pushed Zagreb's defense deep in their own half but possession didn't create chances.
Sammir and Husejinović who entered the game instead of injured Vrsaljko had their long shot attempts but there was no real threat for Livaković in the first 45 minutes. On the other side, left full back Bevab placed a great 25 metres shot that hit the bar; that was the best Zagreb's chance of the game.
Coach Jurčić made a substitute at half time: Alen Halilović went to the bench and Fatos Beqiraj entered the game; what a move that proved to be. Sammir made a nice run on the right side and found Beqiraj in the box who placed the ball in the net. After only three minutes – Dinamo had the lead.
Dinamo didn't stop after taking the lead despite the fact another player, Arijan Ademi, left the field because of an injury. His substitute, Zvonko Pamić, played excellent for the last half an hour and got two assists. First one was in the 63rd minute when Krstanović headed his corner to the net for 2:0. Couple of minutes later, Beqiraj did a great job, passed through the middle and placed a great shot that hit the post. Post saved Zagreb that time but it didn't help them in the 80th minute when Pamić put in a cross from another corner, Beqiraj's attempt was blocked but the ball came to Krstanović who scored his second goal.
Dinamo got the well deserved 3:0 victory and got another step closer to defending the title. Next game is on Sunday, 14.4., when Modri host Inter Zaprešić.
