Dinamo enrolled 2:0 defeat in the Champions League match against Lyon. Scorers for Lyon were Gomis and Kone, while Dinamo squad was unable to find a tactic that would bring them success.
The biggest Lyon's advantages are counterattacks and they had their first chance at the beginning of the match. Domagoj Vida was late on the ball which Gomis sent high over the crossbar. Dinamo played defensively from the beginning of the match, and both teams had several chances the first twenty minutes of the game. Dinamo's first great opportunity came when Sammir tried to pass the ball to Fatos Beqiraj, but Dejan Lovren stopped the attack.
Soon, Lyon took the lead on the Gerland. Nikola Pokrivač returned the ball into the space between two defensive Dinamo players. Gomis was in a great position, he got the ball and sent it above Kelava into the net. After the French team scored, Dinamo had a few chances. At first, Luis Ibanez had a great chance with the free kick but the ball was stopped in the Lyon's defense. A few minutes later there was another chance - Ibanez shot the ball to the center, the ball has passed Kone and came to Beqiraj who was late and missed a perfect chance in front of the goal.
Few minutes before the end of the first half, Lyon scored again. After the corner, Kone got the ball right in front of Kelava and he sent the ball into the net from just a few meters. Lyon increased the lead to 2:0 and the result didn't change until the end of the first half.
Dinamo decided to play offensive in the second half. Josip Šimunić and Ivan Tomečak entered the game instead of Mateo Kovačić and Milan Badelj. Although Dinamo was trying to reach Lyon's goal, Jurčić's team didn't succeedd in realization.
