On Monday, on the World Prematurity Awareness Day, Clinical Hospital "Sveti Duh" received a valuable donation of medical equipment in the total amount of 288,437.94 euros, which was jointly collected during a three-month humanitarian campaign by the Preterm Birth Parents Club "Palčići" and Dinamo's Nema predaje Foundation.

The donation is intended for the Neonatology Department, which operates at the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics of Clinical Hospital "Sveti Duh", and it enabled the procurement of modern medical equipment for the care of the youngest and most vulnerable patients - premature babies.

At a ceremonial event, the donation was presented by the president of the Club of Parents of Premature Babies "Palčići", Mrs. Željka Vučko and the manager of Dinamo's foundation Never Give Up, Saša Pavličić Bekić, and it was received on behalf of the hospital by Prof. Edvard Galić, MD, the director of the Clinical Hospital "Sveti Duh".

Thanks to this donation, the Neonatology Department has been enriched with new equipment including: 6 incubators, 12 perfusors, 6 infusion pumps, a device for transcutaneous CO₂ measurement, video laryngoscope, HFNC device, medical gas humidifier, therapeutic trolleys, and bottle warmers.

This equipment will enable even better and safer care for premature babies and further improve the treatment standards in one of the most important hospital units for newborn care.

With this act of humanity and togetherness, the "Palčići" Club, Dinamo's foundation Nema predaje, and all people of good will, led by the "Team nenormalni", once again showed how much strength there is in the common care for the most vulnerable among us.

"Thanks to this donation, our experts will have even better conditions for providing top-notch care for prematurely born children. Thanks to all donors and citizens who supported this noble action," stated prof. Edvard Galić, MD, director of the Clinical Hospital "Sveti Duh".

„Our goal is for every child, regardless of the circumstances of birth, to have the best possible chance at life. We are happy that together with Dinamo's foundation, we can support the doctors who fight for these little hearts every day,“ added Mrs.  Željka Vučko, president of the Club of Parents of Premature Babies "Thumbelinas".

"When Mrs. Vučko contacted us with a question if we were ready to support the Thumbelinas and such an important humanitarian action again, we didn't hesitate 'not even for two seconds,' as one famous fan song verse says. Five years after the Zagreb earthquake, when the Boys saved the little Thumbelinas from Petrova, Dinamo's fans, our donors, and all the people with big hearts once again showed the power of unity and proved that the greatest victories are achieved off the field. We owe special thanks to Bruno Lerotić and his 'Team nenormalni', without whom this action would not have had such an impact. We are proud to symbolically close a humanitarian story on the International Day of Premature Birth Awareness, and we are glad that we will be able to transfer the collected surplus of over 15 thousand euros to the account of our ongoing humanitarian action for children with congenital heart defects," concluded.  Saša Pavličić Bekić, Manager of Dinamo's foundation No Surrender.

After a ceremonial event and placing donor plaques on incubators and other equipment collected in the campaign, the whole delegation consisting of Thumbelinas, their parents, representatives of Dinamo's foundation and hospital staff released purple balloons into the air symbolizing the smallest and bravest fighters - little Thumbelinas!
