Vida scores two in a safe victory against Istra

Dinamo played a very good game against Istra and got the fully deserved 11th league victory. Modri were a much better team for the whole game and thanks to defender Domagoj Vida who scored two and Sammir who added a beautiful goal points stayed in Zagreb.

Couple of days after shock Cup defeat against Zadar Dinamo players showed that was just a bad day in the office and played an excellent game against Istra 1961. Modri dominated the entire game and soon managed to turn possession into goals. Coach Ante Čačić decided for a very attacking squad with Čop, Beqiraj and Rukavina in front and with Sammir and Kovačić behind them.

Offensive Dinamo started to create chances from the start of the match and Modri soon got in front. It was in the 19th minute when Kovačić made a cross from the corner kick, Rukavina hit the bar and the ball came to Vida who knew where to be so Dinamo took the lead. Couple of minutes later Sammir got his 11th league goal this season.

Istra's defenders cleared a cross but only for Sammir who got the ball 22-23 metres from Prskalo and placed a beautiful shot to the corner of the goal; excellent move for 2:0. Even though Dinamo continued to create chances it was Istra who scored the next goal. In the only time Istra got to Dinamo's box - they've scored. Anđelković launched a counter attack, found Roce who escaped Dinamo defender and slipped the ball past Kelava.

During halftime coach Čačić left Sammir in the dressing room because he felt pain so Brozović entered the game. Dinamo continued to dominate and very soon scored the third goal. Rukavina earned a free kick on the left side, Brozović made a cross and once again it was Vida who scored his second goal. In the last half an hour coach Čačić made couple of changes, Dinamo had several good chances but Prskalo saved his net.

Dinamo got their 11th league victory this season and now turn their focus to the match against PSG next week.
