Dinamo continued run of good results and with a draw at Poljud maintained a great atmosphere in the squad ahead of Champions league clash against Real Madrid. Modri were a better side in the derby match against Hajduk, had more chances but knowing the fact that Hajduk played with 10 men for more than an hour - the draw is a fair result. Home side went ahead thanks to captain Srđan Andrić in the 44th minute but Luis Ibanez managed to score an equaliser before half time.

Dinamo started the game at Poljud very good and controlled the ball while Hajduk players had problems with keeping possession. Croatian champions were the ones who had the first chance in the 9th minute when Tonel's header hid the side neting. Minute later, Brkljača received a yellow card which will turn out as very important only ten minutes later.

In the 20th minute defensive midfielder made his third and final rough tackle so referee Bebek had no other option but to show him a second yellow card. Off course, Krasimir Balakov instantly made his first change of the game and in stead of attacker Ahmad Sharbini defender Masaiko Inoha came on the pitch. After the expulsion Dinamo controlled the game even more while Hajduk's main concern was - defence.

Although Modri had possession they didn't manage to convert it into chances, in fact the best chance was when Vida's cross was saved by Subašić. Lack of determination in Dinamo squad was punished in the 44th minute when Hajduk took the lead. It was in the 44th minute when Anas Sharbini made a cross from the corner, Maloča's header was cleared from the goal line but only for Andrić who scored for the lead. Because of fireworks and torches that stopped the game for a couple of times there was five minutes of added time and in the fourth - Dinamo scored an equaliser. Badelj's cross deflected from Beqiraj to Ibanez who instantly placed a shot in the corner of Hajduk's net.

Coach Jurčić made a substitution and sent Mario Šitum to the pitch instead of Leandro Cufre so Dinamo played more offensively. At the beginning of the second half, Modri had several chances but failed to convert. Tonel made another head attempt in the 50th minute and Leko's shot ended over the goal. The closest Dinamo came to the lead was when Kovačić's nice shot hit the post in the 68th minute.

In the final 20 minutes Dinamo made a huge pressure on Hajduk which opened some space for Hajduk's counter attacks. Rukavina had a great chance in the 81st minute but failed to control the ball and Badelj had another chance but Subašić was concentrated. On the other side, Tomasov and Sharbini had their chances but Kelava saved their attempts.

Finally, the game ended with a draw and Dinamo maintained the series of great results. Now Modri turn their focus to the UEFA Champions league match against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

Copied!
