Dinamo secured an expected victory in the 1/8 Cup final against HAŠK. Second division team was no match for Croatian champions and Dinamo thanks to goals from Krstanović, Morales and Ademi solved everything in the first half while Sylvestr made it final 4:0.
Just a couple of hundred metres from Maksimir, at Pešćenica, Dinamo came to play Cup game. Even though coach Jurčić decided not to use several first team players like Vida, Šimunić, Badelj, Sammir, Beqiraj and Rukavina Modri produced a nice display and secured what seem to be an easy victory.
Cup competition always has it's tricky side so an early goal in most of the time is a sure bet for the favourites; Dinamo did exactly that. After just 7 minutes Ibanez made a cross from the corner, Ademi was superior in the air and his header ended in the back of the net. Needless to say that this was an excellent start of the game and especially for Ademi who played his first game this season after a long term injury.
Off course, an early goal was only a sign for Dinamo to press even more and look for a second one to solve the game. On the other side, HAŠK made a couple of counter-attack attempts through Horvat but there was no real danger for Kelava. Our goalkeeper didn't have much to do but, unfortunately, our doctors did. In just couple of minutes Tonel and Vrsaljko left the pitch because of injuries so Leko and Morales came on.
Between two subs, Dinamo doubled the lead. Captain Kovačić found Ibanez on the left side and his cross went towards Krstanović who's backheel shot ended in the back of the net. It was a really nice move from our striker in the 34th minute. Seven minutes after that it was game over for HAŠK. Sub Morales placed a great shot to the net and Sakač was absolutely helpless; another great goal for 3:0 at half time.
Dinamo controlled the game in the second half but it was all in the lower pace; especially after Sylvestr made it 4:0 in the 53rd minute. Again, for the third time today, it was Ibanez's cross that made the goal when Slovakian striker converted the header. HAŠK made a couple of attempts to score but there was no real danger for Kelava.
Dinamo secured a spot in the Cup quarterfinal and the next game is on Saturday against Istra 1961 in Pula.
