Dinara was celebrating their 100-th birthday and Dinamo played their first match after securing the eight consecutive title so – it was a celebration match; for everyone. Dinamo came to Knin without several important players due to injury problems and national youth team duty but six players from our youth team certainly showed they can play football.
First half squad was made out of well known names and it could easily be the starting squad for a championship game so it was no surprise that Dinamo was the dominant team. Modri had their first threat after less than 90 seconds when Beqiraj tried his shot. Shortly after Beqiraj made a brilliant pass for Brodić who missed a great chance but as it later proved – he was just getting warmed up.
It was only a matter of time when will Modri score and the lead came in the 16th minute. Rukavina made a cross from the left side, Brodić rushed to the box and placed a marvelous header from the bar to the net; excellent move from our youngster for his first goal. Pamić and Husejinović tried from long distance, Jedvaj had a header after a corner kick and in the 37th minute it was 2:0.
Brodić and Krstanović made a nice "one-two" and 16-year old placed a very nice 18 metres shot to the corner of the net; another great move by the talented kid. Dinamo had several more attempts in the first half but Dinara was closer to getting one back. It was Teskera who placed a shot that ended in the bar after the only time Dinara came to Dinamo's box in the first 45 minutes.
Coach Jurčić made all 8 substitutions during half time while only Pamić, Brodić and Rukavina stayed on the pitch. One of the youngsters who entered the game was Marko Kolar, young striker who is training with the first team since the beginning of this part of the season and scored his first goal. It was once again Rukavina who "made a mess" on the left side, ball came to the box where Kolar reacted nicely and placed the ball to the net.
A lot of youngsters on their debut were obviously impressed so they didn't react well in the set piece situation in the 59th minute when Nikolić-Kovačić scored the consolation goal for a big celebration on the stands. Modri responded immediately and another youngster, Marko Alvir, scored a header after Filip Leko's cross from the right side to make it 4:1.
In the last 15 minutes of the game goalkeepers Meštrović was the one taking the spotlight with several excellent saves. Pamić, Rukavina and Brodić had great chances to give Modri the bigger lead but Meštrović saved everything.
