Dinamo and AIK played a charity game for Ivan Turina who tragically passed away on the 2nd of May. In a friendly game where absolutely everything was dedicated to Ivan and his family, football came in second place but Dinamo played a very good game and thanks to Ante Rukavina's first half goal got the 1:0 victory.

It was a tough match to watch and play at Friends Arena in Stockholm. There was a lot of emotions on the stadium and it was a game everyone will never forget; for sure. All started with Dinamo president Mr. Barišić handing flowers, through very emotional speech by Ivan's nephew Manuel Štrlek, Croatia handball national team player and with constant "Ivan Turina" coming from the stands. Really amazing and a game everyone will remember forever.

As for the football point of view, Dinamo played a really good match. Of course, it was a charity friendly game to make funds for Ivan's family so there was really no fouls in the whole 2x27 minutes; Ivan's number at AIK. From the start of the match Dinamo dominated, even got an early goal with Brozović's header that was ruled out for an offside but it was obvious that Croatian champions are better.

Stamatopoulos made several nice saves after attempts from Tomečak and Leko but he was helpless in the 23rd minute. Vrsaljko who played another great game at the full back rushed through the side and found Rukavina with a nice pass who easily placed the ball in the net. Soon after that Modri had a great chance to double the lead but they complicated too much in the AIK-s box.

Coach Jurčić made all subs at halftime so all youth team players (Filip Leko, Marko Alvir, Jozo Šimunović, Dino Špehar) spent the second 27 minutes on the pitch. In fact, it was Alvir who had a brilliant chance when Brozović found him in a "one-on-one" situation but his attempt went over the goal. As for the AIK is concerned, their best chance was a shot from Persson couple of minutes from time that hit the post.

When the referee blowed for full time, the fans came to the pitch and "Ivan Turina, Ivan Turina" was on their lips. This match was the best proof what kind of a man was Ivan and that he will never be forgotten.

Ivan, rest in peace.

Copied!
