GNK Dinamo proudly presented the official fourth jersey in their collection for the first time in history this Saturday. We have already seen the new main combination and the away gray variant during the summer preparations, the third set in a darker shade of blue was promoted at the start of the season, and in Saturday's league match against Varaždin at Maksimir, the last in the quartet of jerseys in the current competitive year was premiered.
It was an opportunity for everyone to see the design that is unique in many ways and inspired by the most passionate Dinamo fans.
The creator of the jersey is our celebrated singer-songwriter Dubravko Ivaniš Ripper, who dedicated his "hommage" to his favorite club and the Bad Blue Boys over thirty years ago with the cult fan hit "Dinamo ja volim". Now he has also tried his hand at "fashion expression" and designed an original creation that skillfully synthesizes the energy, atmosphere, and emotion that emanate from the north stand of Maksimir.
With an avant-garde approach and a playful modernistic style, he managed to depict the symbiosis of the stands and the field, fans and the team in a unique and attractive way. We could aptly name the fourth kit "fan edition" because the scenes with fans, jokes, and flags effectively "overflow from the stands onto the shirt." With such a visual effect, it seems as if just by looking at the jersey, we can hear the roar from the north.
This kit is also in the classic blue color, with the front dominated by the view of a filled north with clearly highlighted scarves and flags. The frame with fan repertoire is printed in lighter and darker shades of blue, with the collar and sleeve edges ending with a white and black line.
The jersey also has a special "aroma" given by the design on the upper back of the shirt, where a star of the North Star is subtly embroidered in gold within the number 1986, which of course symbolizes the year of the founding of the Bad Blue Boys.
Ripper himself shared a few words in a special video describing his guiding idea in creating the fourth jersey:
“I would like our jersey to be like a song, to follow the idea of Dinamo and Zagreb in every detail. The North as a guide, the feeling I live for, the roar of the stands, the pounding of drums, and the smoke of flares are woven into every pore of our scarves and flags. I was born on this asphalt, Dinamo is your and my tattoo.”
