Experienced Spanish midfielder, Gonzalo Villar, former player of Spanish club Granada, is the new player of Dinamo. He has signed a multi-year contract with the Blues and will join the team for the gathering on Wednesday, June 18.
Villar will strengthen the competition in the midfield for Dinamo, as he is a versatile player known for his skill in creating plays and his defensive responsibility.
He was born on March 23, 1998 in Murcia. He has played for the Spanish youth national team, where his teammate and captain at the time was the former brilliant Dinamo midfielder Dani Olmo. Villar also participated in the 2021 European Championship with the U-21 team.
In his younger years, he played the longest for Elche, making his senior debut with their B team at the age of 16. In the meantime, he moved to Valencia, and after a new return episode to Elche, he continued his career in Italy wearing the Roma jersey, for which he made 64 official appearances. In the meantime, he was loaned to Getafe and Sampdoria, and spent the last two seasons in Granada.
"As soon as I heard about Dinamo's interest, I didn't hesitate for a second. I am happy to have arrived in Zagreb and I am looking forward to the new challenges that await me here. I have heard a lot about the club considering their excellent results in Europe, and I am also good friends with Raul Torrente and Dani Olmo who have told me everything about Dinamo as well as the fantastic fans who support the club. We are getting to work right away. The most important goal is to bring the championship title back to Zagreb," Villar said when signing the contract.
Welcome to Dinamo, dear Gonzalo!
