Slovenian midfielder Miha Zajc signs contract with Dinamo

Experienced Slovenian midfielder and former member of Turkish Fenerbahçe, 31-year-old Miha Zajc, has signed a multi-year contract with Dinamo. He spent last season on loan at Toulouse in the French Ligue 1, and this week joined the team at Maksimir where he will enhance the midfield where he can play in multiple positions.

He played for the Slovenian national team for a full eight years, appearing in 39 matches and scoring eight goals. He was previously a member of the national team at all levels, from U-16 to U-21.

He was born on July 1, 1994, in Šempeter pri Gorici, he made his senior football debut at the age of 17 playing for Ljubljana's Bravo Interblock in the second league, and soon after he played in the top tier of Slovenian football, first briefly on loan at Olimpija, and then at Celje for a year and a half.

In the summer of 2014, he signed a contract with Olimpija, after two and a half seasons he moved to Italian Empoli, and from February 2019 until this summer he was a member of Fenerbahçe with short loan spells at Genoa in 2020/21 and at Toulouse last season.

With Olimpija, he won the championship title in 2016, with the club from Istanbul he was the winner of the Turkish Cup in 2023, in the autumns of 2021 and 2022 he played in the Europa League group stage, and in the 2023/24 season he reached the quarterfinals of the Conference League.

I can't wait to step out in front of the fans at Maksimir. I am ready to take on responsibility, work hard, and help the team achieve its goals, and I mostly mean winning the Croatian championship title” - Miha said when signing the contract.
