Nine goals in two consecutive matches at Maksimir are a beautiful invitation for the blue faithful ahead of upcoming new European challenges. Dinamo's players defeated their city neighbours Rudeš 4:0 on Friday in the 3rd round of the SuperSport HNL, further brightening the atmosphere ahead of Tuesday when they will welcome Norwegian side Viking on this same pitch in the first leg of the Champions League play-off. This quartet of goals in the opponent's net follows, of course, the recent 5:0 victory against Lithuanian side Kauno Žalgiris, and Dion Drena Beljo added special icing to that Maksimir goal-scoring package: the double scorer in the victory against Rudeš found the net with a masterful scissors kick as early as the 6th minute.

Special emotion was brought by the Maksimir supporters on the north stand with a banner reading "Dinamo's north with Croatian south" accompanied by loud singing of patriotic verses "Long live Croatia!" as a sign of support for those affected by the devastating fires in Dalmatia.

Dinamo pressed Rudeš's defence from the very start, Niko Galešić played through Miha Zajc, who passed to Beljo, but goalkeeper Lovre Rogić managed to save the shot. However, the net shook four minutes later. Zajc crossed from the right, Stjepan Radeljić headed down at the "far post", the ball bounced off the ground, and Beljo with a magnificent manoeuvre, a scissors kick from six metres, hammered the ball into the goal.

The Maksimir striker tried again in the 20th minute, Lukas Kačavenda charged down the right flank, crossed to Fran Topić, who played it back, Beljo struck powerfully first time, but Rogić managed to "scoop" the ball away with a save.

A new goal came in the 39th minute, captain Josip Mišić played right where Paul Tabinas was overlapping and crossed into the middle. The ball was briefly deflected in the scramble by centre-back Felipe Curcio, Kačavenda rushed in and increased the lead.

Rudeš played with ten men from the 58th minute after left-back Ante Sušak was sent off. Dinamo created an effective move down the right side, Topić after a one-two with Beljo ran into the penalty area, Sušak stopped him from behind and earned a red card... It was, of course, also a penalty which Beljo converted for the hosts' third goal.

Just two minutes later Robert Mudražija rushed down the right flank, cut back low into the penalty area, and Arbër Hoxha deflected it into the net with a clever touch. Soon after, Mudražija was close to scoring himself... Mateo Lisica crossed from the corner, Galešić headed it, goalkeeper Rogić saved in the heart of the penalty area, Mudražija rushed in and struck powerfully from an angle on the left, but Noa Skoko blocked it on the goal line.

Applause was also earned by Bruno Goda who in the 88th minute unleashed a powerful shot from 25 metres into the top corner, but Rogić with another miraculous dive managed to deflect the ball at the last moment.
