Dinamo b Fail to Make Penalty Count, Points Go to Vinkovci

Dinamo b – Cibalia 0-1

In a tight, engaging and uncertain match, the scales ultimately tipped in favour of the visitors. The hosts failed to convert a penalty, while the visitors found the net with a leaping header from a corner, and it was precisely those two details that defined the Zagreb–Vinkovci encounter in Zaprešić. In Matchday 10 of the SuperSport Prva NL, Cibalia beat hosts Dinamo b 1-0.

The goal was scored by Vinkovci centre-back David Lagančić, a former member of Dinamo's academy. The corner was delivered by Petar Mišić, who was also once under contract with the Blues, and Lagančić rose highest in front of goal to put Cibalia ahead in the 41st minute.

Dinamo b opened the match ambitiously. In the 8th minute, Jona Benkotić, after a one-two with Sven Šunta and a pass through the entire defence, ran onto the edge of the six-yard box, but the goalkeeper managed to reach the ball at the last moment. Just two minutes later, young Luka Bartolović delivered a corner, and Lagančić headed the ball over the crossbar.

Dinamo b came close to scoring in the 16th minute. Ivan Paunović and Noah Nsoki combined on the left, with Nsoki passing to Šunta, but in the ensuing scramble the visiting centre-back and captain Renato Kelić handled the ball. Leonardo Perković took the penalty, but goalkeeper Petar Katalinić stopped the ball with a brilliant reaction.

In the very next action at the other end, Bartolović shot from the left from 20 metres, but wide of the far post. The ever-present Bartolović then whipped in a corner in the 18th minute, Miro Krešić headed it goalwards, and Dinamo goalkeeper Tai Žnuderl managed to clear it off the goal line with his foot.

In the 29th minute, Nsoki played the ball into space, Noa Mikić flicked it on to the right where Egor Molchan picked it up and aimed for the far corner, but the ball flew past the goal.

Soon afterwards, at the other end, Marko Hanuljak attempted a powerful shot from 25 metres, and Žnuderl pushed the ball away with a fine save.

Cibalia thus took the lead just before half-time. Only fine margins separated the Blues from an equaliser in the 51st minute, when Gabrijel Šivalec struck the crossbar with his left foot from the right side, from 20 metres. Unfortunately, the young Maksimir winger was soon injured and had to leave the pitch.

In the 61st minute, Paunović, after a one-two with Šunta, shot from the left from close range, but the goalkeeper again prevented a goal. Somewhat later, Josip Brundić and Sven Šunta combined on the left, with Šunta playing it to the right for Mikić, who returned the ball, and Fuzy Taylor fired just wide of the goal.

Five minutes from time, Ayoub Makhfaoui also tried his luck from about ten metres, but his effort went wide.
