Dinamo's young footballers overcame a very good and solid opponent with a brilliant performance and recorded their third victory in league matches. Dinamo B defeated Mladost from Ždralovi 1-0 on Friday in Zaprešić in the 7th round of the SuperSport First NL, with the winning goal scored in the 69th minute by Leonardo Perković after an effective assist from Noa Mikić.

The young Maksimir team this time 'collected' on the misfortunes from recent matches in which they were better for large parts of the game, dominated at times, but still dropped points in the end. This time, in their second home appearance in Zaprešić, they defeated strong Mladost who had been at the very top until this round and were flying in second place with the same points tally as league leaders Jadran from Ploče.

Maksimir coach Jerko Leko fielded a weakened team on this occasion, with Gabrijel Šivalec, Jona Benkotić and Krešimir Radoš absent due to national team duties, as well as Noah Nsoki who was not sufficiently recovered. Despite such squad deficiencies, Dinamo's coach did not consider a possible postponement of the match, and in the end such a brave decision was, indeed, rewarded with victory.

Moreover, Dinamo 'battled' for all 90 minutes with the same 11 players, therefore without substitutions.

The visitors threatened first, Nikola Mandić set up Filip Ozobić in the 11th minute, but Dinamo goalkeeper Tai Žnuderl managed to touch the ball which then flew just over the goal.

Just five minutes later it sparkled on the other side, the 'blue number ten' Sven Šunta sent a brilliant through ball to the right for Josip Brundić, who ran into the penalty area, but at the last moment goalkeeper Matej Grahovac and Nediljko Stjepanović combined to clear the ball.

Brundić again caused confusion in the opponents' ranks in the 20th minute, he went down the right side, rushed past the defender, shot towards the near corner, but the visiting goalkeeper still prevented the goal.

The visitors also created an attractive move in the 36th minute when Mandić played a through ball into the penalty area, and goalkeeper Žnuderl came out ahead of Ozobić.

A minute before the end of the first half, Dinamo centre-back Nikola Radnić fell in the opponents' penalty area after a clash with a defender, the referee judged it was not a foul. Mladost on the other side again created a promising opportunity, Ozobić curled into the penalty area through a forest of players, Bern Kenneth Tyongi ran onto it, but goalkeeper Žnuderl got to the shot at the last moment.

The goal came in the 69th minute. Mikić led the attack down the right side and with an effective move, using his left foot, crossed into the middle, and Leonardo Perković cleverly 'leaned in' and headed home for the victory.

The visitors played with ten men from the 73rd minute after Petar Krešimir Balen received a second yellow card. Mikić was in a breakthrough at the time, and just as he was rushing towards the penalty area, Balen stopped him with a foul from behind and thus received his second booking, just about twenty minutes after coming off the bench.

Dinamo were close to another goal in the 83rd minute, Šunta played to the right where Mislav Ćutuk ran onto it, freed himself from his marker with dribbling and shot powerfully towards the near corner, but the goalkeeper managed to parry the ball.

Dinamo B will play their next league match on 11 October away against Segesta in Sisak.
