Dinamo B host Jadran from Ploče in Zaprešić on Friday

Dinamo B

Dinamo's young side heads into its next test in a somewhat altered guise: coach Jerko Leko has moved up to the first team, and his place on the bench will be taken by Renato Pilipović, another former great of Maksimir. With this new setup, Dinamo B will play their Round 12 SuperSport First NL match on Friday at 2 pm at the Zaprešić ground, where they will host Jadran Luka Ploče.

Interestingly, the Blues are the only team in the league that has not drawn a single match in the first 11 rounds. This is Dinamo B's inaugural league season, so even before the competition began we stressed that fluctuations in performances and results would be inevitable, as this is a process of young players growing up and adjusting to senior football. An interesting pattern has emerged along the way: since the start of the season, Dinamo B have alternated between two wins and two defeats. In the previous round, the Blues produced a superb away performance to beat leaders Croatia from Zmijavci 3-2.

– The boys are working really well and they are ready. Noa Mikić will be absent due to suspension, Fuzy Taylor because of an injury in the previous match, and Sven Šunta, who has been called up to the first team. In this situation, some new players will get their chance. Although we have only just taken over the B team, we know everything about it. We coaches are in constant communication about the players, from the U-15s up to the first team, so when reshuffles like this happen, we know all about them. We are ready. We are playing Jadran from Ploče, a solid and aggressive opponent who are physically dominant and play real, competitive football, strictly geared to the result. We have studied them well, we will give our all, and I believe it will go well – said coach Pilipović.
