Dinamo Brings Joy to Pupils at Two More Primary Schools

The Blue Project

Promised – delivered! As we announced, GNK Dinamo has continued its tour of primary schools in Zagreb and the surrounding area, all as part of the project "From an Early Age for the Blue Club".

After "Nad lipom" Primary School, we also spent time with the children at August Harambašić and Rugvica primary schools.

As always, there was no shortage of joy and excitement among the youngest – quite the opposite, there was plenty of it.

Besides being fun, the event also had an educational side. Our host and entertainer Luka Bulić taught the pupils, through games and song, about the importance of healthy eating, exercise, a healthy lifestyle, fair play and togetherness. And of course, our lion Plavko was there too, and the children were especially delighted to see him.

150 children gathered at August Harambašić Primary School, and we would like to extend special thanks to teacher Irena Strikinac for her help with the organisation and preparation of this socially responsible and educational project.

"We were happy to take part in this project. I expected the focus to be only on Dinamo, but it was actually also about civic and health education. The children were taught how to cheer, what to eat, how to behave... The kids are thrilled, and when they are happy, we are happy too! Thank you for coming, and we will gladly accept the invitation to a Dinamo match," said teacher Marija Rubčić.

This new edition of the socially responsible and educational project also has a new partner, which is marking 25 years of business in the Croatian market this year. METRO Croatia supports an initiative that encourages the youngest to adopt healthy habits and recognise the importance of proper nutrition. For the pupils taking part in the project, METRO provided healthy snacks – nuts and dried fruit – as a tasty and nutritious choice for school days. Through this partnership, METRO and Dinamo are together contributing to children's education and the promotion of healthier lifestyle habits from the earliest age, while making sure that nobody leaves the hall empty-handed.

The children at Rugvica Primary School welcomed us with no less enthusiasm, and there was a special surprise in the arrival of Dinamo II players! Šimun Begović, Noa Mikić and coach Jerko Leko were part of the delegation that brought even more joy to the pupils.

"I think the programme is great. It was lovely to bring joy to the children, because I know how it felt for me as a kid when a footballer who was my role model came to visit. All in all, the programme is very instructive. It's important that we can show children how important it is to be active in sport and how much they can learn from sports nutrition," said Mikić.

"We have renewed our cooperation with GNK Dinamo. We are a developed and sporty municipality, and most of us are Dinamo fans. The visit of the players and the coach was wonderful. It was an educational experience that will certainly stay in the pupils' memories," said principal Robert Munđer.

165 third- and fourth-grade children gathered at Rugvica Primary School, and we would like to extend special thanks to the president of the school's parents' council, Violeta Molnar, for her help with the organisation and for the initiative to carry out the project at this school.

"It is a great pleasure that Dinamo has come to the Rugvica municipality with its programme. The children were extremely happy and showed great enthusiasm at having the chance to take part in your programme. They learned something about an active lifestyle, something about healthy eating, and had the opportunity to meet Dinamo players and a coach," said Ivan Cepetić, director of the Tourist Board of the Posavina and Prigorje Region.

It is also worth mentioning that, besides Mr Cepetić, the programme was attended by Haris Hadžić, secretary of NK Rugvica Sava, and Marina Čičak, representative of the Rugvičanka Women's Association.

And so our tour of the first three schools has come to an end, with 32 more still ahead of us. We promise that we will never tire of bringing joy to the youngest and teaching them about a healthy lifestyle and true life values. We sincerely look forward to our next meetings with the kids, and to the smiles and joy with which they always greet us!
