The young Maksimir team was separated by fine margins from their first point at the opening of the new championship season. Dinamo B played their first competitive match this Sunday, for the first time after a four-year absence. In the 1st round match of the SuperSport First NL, coach Jerko Leko's team visited Bijelo Brdo where BSK celebrated a 1-0 victory on an artificial pitch.

The young Maksimir team presented themselves well in this inaugural appearance, pressing their opponents for most of the second half, searching for an equalizer... In the end, the hosts were also close to another goal, hitting the post in the dying moments of the match.

In the 13th minute, home midfielder Fran Svraka attempted an attractive overhead kick, but Maksimir goalkeeper Tai Žnuderl flew into the corner and managed to punch the ball away.

BSK took the lead in the 32nd minute from a simple move, Filip Hrs delivered a free kick from the center, slightly to the left, and defender Luka Ćubel met the ball with his head from about ten meters and placed it into the goal with a lob.

Just five minutes later, an almost identical situation occurred at the other end of the pitch. Gabrijel Šivalec curled in a free kick from a similar position, Maksimir captain Marko Zebić jumped right in front of goal and sent the ball with his head against the post.

Dinamo B took control of the match afterwards, Zebić threatened again with a header from a set piece, but there weren't too many concrete chances. Moreover, in the 85th minute, home captain Adam Benić hit the near post with a free kick from 20 meters on the left.

The Blues came closest to an equalizer in the 87th minute, Borna Orlić hit a block from the left in a scramble, in the continuation of the action Petar Šimun Žaja charged from the same side, cutting sharply, Mislav Ćutuk received the ball in the heart of the penalty area, freed himself from his marker with skillful dribbling, but then launched it just over the crossbar.

Dinamo B's next test awaits on Saturday, August 29th, away against Orijent at Rijeka's Krimeja.
