Home side better in first half, Dinamo B in second half, points remain in Dugopolje
Dinamo B
Just four days after a tough test against their peers from Tottenham in England, Dinamo's young footballers played a demanding match in the domestic championship. In the 6th round of SuperSport Prva NL, Dugopolje defeated Dinamo B 3-2 in a match that offered plenty of exciting moments with two completely different halves.
The home side dominated the first half and opened the match very well with two early goals. They played solidly, led by experienced captain Andrija Balić, Mijo Caktaš, Josip Vuković...
Dugopolje took the lead in the 14th minute after Balić delivered a cross and Roko Kurtović headed the ball into the net. Less than two minutes later it was 2-0. Vuković struck effectively with his left foot from about twenty metres, placing the ball in the corner.
Dinamo goalkeeper Tai Žnuderl soon after stopped two more attempts from the home side, first denying Caktaš, then Ante Živković. The home side started the second half well too, and in the 51st minute Luka Kuvačić scored the third goal.
Dinamo B then played with more intensity, with the necessary energy brought by Sven Šunta and Josip Brundić who came off the bench at the start of the second half.
The Blues got back into the game with two goals and brought a touch of uncertainty to the closing stages of the match. Both goals came from crosses from the flanks, first Mislav Ćutuk scored with a header in the 55th minute, before Brundić deflected the ball into the goal with his foot in the 77th minute for 3-2.
The young Maksimir footballers could have grabbed a point with a bit of luck, but the score remained unchanged until the end.
Dinamo goalkeeper Žnuderl had to leave the game in the 61st minute after injuring his hip during an intervention. He was replaced by Petar Lončarević, who made his debut in an official match in a Dinamo shirt and performed at a high level.
