Iker Almena is Dinamo's new player
New signing
Young Spanish winger Iker Almena is Dinamo's new player. He arrives from Saudi club Al-Qadsiah on loan with an option to buy, and will strengthen the competition in the offensive department and expand the attacking potential of the Blues at Maksimir.
Almena is a versatile player who has also operated in midfield during his football journey, and in line with his responsible defensive play, he has also stepped into the role of left-back when needed. In the attacking department, he has played on both wing positions, and when required in the centre, either as a striker or attacking midfielder.
He was born on 4 May 2004 in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, a suburb of Barcelona. He took his first football steps at local club UE Cornella before moving to Barcelona's academy, La Masia, where he spent six years. In summer 2022, he joined Girona where he first played for the youth team, then for the reserve team, and occasionally was part of the first team squad.
He spent the 2024/25 season in Saudi Arabia playing for Al Qadsiah before moving on loan to Split-based Hajduk. At the Poljud club he spent one season and made 23 official appearances with four goals scored.
Almena will become the 44th player in history to have played in an official match for both Zagreb's Blues and Split's Whites during his career.
Dear Iker, welcome to Dinamo, we wish you great success in the blue jersey!
