"Dear Bogdan family, dear and beloved people of Međimurje, our fellow Dinamo supporters - our sincere condolences.

Today we mourn a wonderful man and a legend of our club, but his legacy remains - his message remains - forever. Because Čeči was the true and genuine embodiment of the real Dinamo. Both as a person and as a footballer.

In my youth, there were several symbols of the beautiful game: Zeko's slalom, Mlinko's dribbling, Cico's touch and Čeči's leap! The one with the pause: as if he was floating, as if he stopped and conquered time.

I am extremely proud of my first match for my homeland, in Rijeka, against Romania on December 22, 1990. Not only because it was the dream of generations, but also because Cico was captain, Čeči was centre-back and vice-captain, and Dražan Jerković was the manager.

A child and his idols: in the same shirt, in the same embrace.

In hope that we might perhaps play together somewhere up there in God's meadows, we wish strength to his loved ones - the entire Dinamo family is yours too.

May the Međimurje soil, the Croatian earth, rest lightly upon him, and may his soul have always found peace.

In the goodness by which we will always keep him in our hearts, in that so special smile. That broad smile which was the image of the man he was."
