Dinamo's Nema predaje Foundation has opened a public call for the "Nikola Pokrivač" Scholarship, designed for young and talented athletes, primarily from rural and smaller communities across Croatia, whose financial, geographical or other life circumstances make further sporting development difficult.

For the first cycle of the Scholarship, a fund totaling 20,000 euros has been secured, from which ten young athletes will be supported.

Each selected scholarship recipient will receive 200 euros monthly for ten months, totaling 2,000 euros in support, to enable better training conditions, participation in competitions, purchase of sports equipment and other costs related to sporting and personal development.

The application period runs from September 28 until October 28 at 23:59, with applications submitted through a specially designed online form.

The "Nikola Pokrivač" Scholarship was launched as part of the first Nikola Pokrivač Memorial, held in Zagreb from April 17-19, 2026, marking the first anniversary of the premature passing of the former Croatian international and Dinamo player who also played for numerous domestic and international clubs.

The Memorial was initiated by Nikola's friends in collaboration with Dinamo's Nema predaje Foundation, with the desire to preserve Nikola's memory through a permanent initiative that will provide concrete opportunities for young athletes' further development.

The scholarship is intended for children and young athletes, elementary and high school students, who achieve notable sporting results or show pronounced sporting potential, regularly attend school and are actively involved in sports.

Special emphasis is placed on young people from rural and smaller communities, specifically places where access to quality training, sports infrastructure, competitions and other development programs is more limited.

When selecting scholarship recipients, sporting results and potential, social and financial status, conditions for sporting development in the candidate's environment, attitude toward school and sporting obligations, recommendations from relevant persons, and motivation and expected impact of the Scholarship will be considered.

Connection with GNK Dinamo and the Dinamo community may represent an additional advantage, but is not a condition for application or scholarship award.

Funds for the first cycle of the Scholarship were raised during the Nikola Pokrivač Memorial, through sales of multiple memorial cups bearing Nikola's image at GNK Dinamo organized events, direct donations from citizens and partners, and through sporting and charitable events.

Neighborhood futsal tournaments and sports-entertainment events held throughout Zagreb also made significant contributions to the total fund.

Thanks to Nikola's friends, event organizers, sports clubs, partners, volunteers, donors, Dinamo supporters and all people who supported the initiative, a total of 20,000 euros has been secured for the first scholarship cycle.

The fund will be entirely directed to ten selected scholarship recipients, each of whom will receive 200 euros monthly for ten months.

Scholarship funds are intended for costs related to sporting, educational and personal development of scholarship recipients, including sports equipment, memberships and training, travel to training and competitions, entry fees, sports camps and education, school supplies, nutrition and accommodation related to sporting development, medical examinations, rehabilitation, therapy and other justified expenses.

Applications are submitted electronically by completing the application form and providing the required documentation.

Before applying, candidates, or their parents or guardians if the candidate is a minor, should study the public call text, application conditions, scoring criteria and accompanying documentation.

The application deadline is October 28 at 23:59.

After the deadline expires, received applications will be administratively checked and evaluated in accordance with the conditions and criteria established by the call.

The final decision on selecting ten scholarship recipients will be made by the Expert Jury of Dinamo's Nema predaje Foundation, and results will be published in accordance with the rules and deadlines specified in the application documentation.
