U15s and U17s in title battle against Hajduk!

Live broadcasts secured on Dinamo Plus

As you know, our senior team is not playing a league match this weekend, with the next test coming on Monday in Osijek against Vukovar.

However, this certainly doesn't mean that Maksimir will lack excitement and good football.

Namely, Dinamo's U15s and U17s on Sunday, April 12th will play their league derbies at home against their eternal rival, Split's Hajduk.

Matches against the team from Poljud always generate special attention and interest by themselves, and additional importance is given by the fact that both teams in these age categories are fighting for the Croatian championship title.

Let's start with the U15s. Coach Ante Ivanda's team is currently second in the table, but with just one point behind Hajduk. A victory would consequently see them take the lead at the top of the table.

Our boys are in excellent form - they have six consecutive league victories, and in the meantime have also reached the Cup semi-final, precisely with a victory against Hajduk at Poljud.

Dinamo's players are also very prolific in front of goal - in those six league victories they scored an almost unbelievable 38 goals. That averages out to more than six per match!

"We're expecting a match between two teams that are currently by far the best Croatian teams. Both Dinamo and Hajduk have between seven and nine U15 national team players, 80% of the quality is concentrated precisely in these two clubs. A big handicap for us will be not having captain Lucas Kuzmanović Lastavec who is injured, and he's a key player for the team in our 4-3-3 system. But regardless of that, we know we're playing at home, and we can promise that we'll give our maximum. I expect a balanced match, and I hope that we'll be the ones to leave the pitch with smiles on our faces at the end", U15 coach Ante Ivanda previewed the derby.

The match kicks off at 10:30 on pitch number 7 on artificial grass.

The U17s play immediately after the U15s, with kick-off at 12:45, on pitch number 3 on natural grass.

In their championship the situation is similar, Dinamo has three points more, but also one game in hand over Hajduk.

And another similarity with the U15s - the U17s also lost their last match at the end of November last year to Lokomotiva away, and after that have strung together all victories.

"The derby is always additional motivation for everyone, everyone wants to prove themselves, both individually and as a team. The boys work well and play well, we're in an excellent run. We have five Croatian U17 national team players who should feature at the European Championship at the end of May. This derby will be very important in the title fight, I hope that with a victory we could separate ourselves a bit considering we also have a game in hand. Of course, Hajduk also has their calculations, and they want to be champions, but we'll do everything in our power to ensure that's us", U17 coach Tomislav Mikulić was clear.

Therefore, we're expecting two derbies, two fantastic matches, clashes between the two best clubs in the country.

We invite you to come to Maksimir on Sunday and support our U15s and U17s in their fight for the Croatian championship title!

We hope you'll gather in the greatest numbers possible, and for those who can't make it, GNK Dinamo has secured live broadcasts of both matches on the Dinamo Plus app.
